A check on X costs 4 credits, and X is never checked more often than every minute. Credits meter the checks: the mentions they find are never capped. Nothing is charged during the public beta.
What happens to a mention
A search on X carries several terms at once, joined into one request, so your brand, its domain and a common misspelling are one check. Terms per search: Free 3, Solo 10, Growth 25, Pro 50.
Every mention is read by the AI for a sentiment and an intent, and ranked by reach: what deserves an answer sits on top, with a reply drafted. The same post caught on two sources is one line.
It lands in your Feed and, the moment it is caught, in Slack, Discord, an email digest or a signed webhook. The REST API and the MCP server read the same stream.

Questions
Can I use X search operators?
Yes. The search is X’s own syntax, so from:, lang:, quoted phrases and exclusions narrow a Watch exactly as they narrow a search in the app. Several spellings of your brand ride in the same search.
Does it need access to my X account?
Not to monitor. Mentions are read from public posts, and nothing signs into your account. Connecting your account is only needed to send a reply from the inbox, and nothing is posted until you press Send.
What happens when a post is deleted?
Deleted and protected posts stop appearing in new matches. A post you have already received stays in your feed as it was caught.
